We don't make any charge for visiting to advise on the practicality of a project. On a preliminary visit we can inform you of the budget you should consider, what approvals you may need and will leave you informed as to what you need to do to start your project off on the right path.
Significant Spaces provide design, cost advice, supervision and the necessary project administration skills to take you from project concept to completion.  We aim to add professional experience and technical knowledge to our clients enthusiasm to get their project completed but not to make the process more complex than necessary.

Be it creating a loft extension, modern bathrooms or a family kitchen and living room a building project is a rare opportunity for a client to use their creative inspiration to alter their domestic space to meet the needs they see as significant to their family and their future.

Despite building providing the press and television with a full diet of horror stories it does not have to be like that.  By making sure that you make proper arrangements and pay attention to the practicality of design it is a rewarding way of making a significant investment in your home.

Each client needs to pick out a menu of the services.  We are happy to tailor our services around our clients needs, availability and experience. We welcome commissions from clients who have no experience of construction but we also often work for builders, developers and landlords.

Extension, refurbishment or new build projects fall into the following stages, more detail can be found in the following pages :
1. Defining what you want to do, setting an outline budget and making a planning application. 2. Prepare detailed drawings to show compliance with building regulations, thermal efficiency requirements and for builders and specialists to provide quotations. 3. Select and engage a building contractor and other specialist trades under an appropriate contract and arrange for the works to start. 4. The construction period. 5. Completion. 6. Post completion.
